In-Memory and In-Honor Donations:

If you are making a donation in- memory or in-honor of an individual, please call our main office and notify a staff member about your gift: (413) 442-3181

Your donation builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Let our families explain how their lives have changed since becoming Habitat Homeowners.

Your donor dollars go a lot farther with Habitat because of our volunteer labor. From our regular crew to our Women Build volunteers to myriad special groups, like Williams College students building on their spring break, volunteers come to Habitat because they know working here makes a huge difference in the lives of individuals as well as the larger community.

How your dollars make a difference:

  • $20 - A lock set for a door.

  • $30 - Provides the budgeting tools for a Habitat Homebuyer Partner in our Building For Tomorrow program.

  • $50 - Supplies food for one day of job site volunteers.

  • $100 - Support technology for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program to file free taxes for low-income families and individuals.

  • $200 - A double-paned window.

  • $400 - An entry door into a new future for a Habitat family.

  • $3,000 - All the windows on a home.

  • $8,000 - Builds a handicap ramp to increase accessibility.

  • $30,000 - The foundation of a newly-constructed Habitat home.

  • $130,000 - Total home construction costs.

Your donations go to support all of Central Berkshire Habitat's initiatives; from our home building activities to our Neighborhood Revitalization projects. Pictured are Mike and Alyce Layden, who had a handicap ramp constructed by Habitat volunteers in October 2015.

Vera St. John put in many, many hours helping at ReStore and on the job site, but the bulk of her hours were earned helping with our VITA Tax program. Vera became our 36th homeowner in September 2015 and is caring for her five children and aging mother in the Westside Neighborhood. Of course, like all our Habitat Homeowners, Vera will have a mortgage to pay. We do not give away homes.
